Full Description
A Second World War military camp at Hamworthy, Poole to the east of Rockley Sands. Numerous military buildings with associated structures and features are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945 and 1946.(1-2) Towards the southwest of the site is the modern Royal Marines Hamworthy Camp. The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (3/4) The features were digitally mapped as part of the the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
