Full Description
A linear bank measuring approximately 480m by 2m is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs dating from 1947 of Hamworthy, Poole. It runs east from Purbeck View towards the site of the modern day Hamworthy Camp. It is thought likely to be associated with the Military encampment recorded on the site during the Second World War (MDO29524) but its function is unknown. The linear is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project.(2/3) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
