Summary

A series of linear banks are visible as low earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1942 and on lidar taken in 2009. The features lie on Burton Common and to the north of the Old Coastguard House, they are considered to be field boundaries of medieval or post medieval origin.

A series of linear banks are visible as low earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1942 and on lidar taken in 2009. The features lie on Burton Common and to the north of the Old Coastguard House, they are considered to be field boundaries of medieval or post medieval origin (1-2). The features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
