Full Description
A possible Second World War slit trench is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s adjacent to a disused quarry to the north of Butts Quarries (see MDO19537). The trench extends along the western side of the quarry as a single linear ditch, then turns along the northern edge, formed of two sub-rectangular bays. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
