Full Description

An area of strip lynchets is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the east of Lloyds Cottage, Portland. The lynchets are oriented north west-south east and cover an area measuring approximately 130 m by 50 m. (1) The site is not visible as an earthwork on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) They are located to the south of a larger area of east-west oriented lynchets (see MDO6521). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
