Full Description
A probable Second World War bomb crater is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the south of Verne Citadel, Portland. The crater is sub-circular in shape, measuring 4 m in diameter and surrounding by a bank of spoil. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
