A circular hollow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Nothe Gardens taken in 1946 (1). Its close proximity to a Second World War Heavy Anti-aircraft Battery (MDO29795) suggests it could be the remains of a bomb crater contemporary with this period. It was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). This feature is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
