Full Description

A Bronze Age pottery vessel described as a "ridged food-vessel" was found in the Christchurch locality. It was of well-fired 'red ware' with an everted rim, a cordon and girth groove between rim and shoulder. It is decorated with an ornament of maggots impressed diagonally on the rim, cordon and shoulder. It is now in the Red House Museum, Christchurch.
