Summary

A large area of extraction is visible on aerial photographs of Chesil Beach taken in 1946, located just to the west of the southern end of Ferrybridge. It is considered likely to be the remains of a post medieval or modern quarry. This area has now become a tidal pool.

A large area of extraction is visible on aerial photographs of Chesil Beach taken in 1946 (1), located just to the west of the southern end of Ferrybridge. It is considered likely to be the remains of a post medieval or modern quarry. It was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). This area has now become a tidal pool (2).
