Full Description

A Roman denarius of Septimus Severus was found at Fordington, possibly in the late nineteenth century. Obverse: SEVERVS. PIVS. AVG. BRIT. Laureate head to right. Reverse: VICTORIAE. BRIT. Victory seated on shields, to left; supporting a shield with right hand, the left holds a palm branch. (1)
