Summary

A group of linear ditches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs, running predominantly northeast-southwest across the south-eastern edge of Hyde Heath. They are considered likely to be the remains of historic or modern trackways. Although this area has since been built over by a modern golf driving range, some of the trackways are still visible.

A group of linear ditches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (1-2), running predominantly northeast-southwest across the south-eastern edge of Hyde Heath. They are considered likely to be the remains of historic or modern trackways. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. Although this area has since been built over by a modern Golf Driving Range, some of the trackways are still visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
