Five post medieval extractive pits are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery of 2010 within Ilsington Wood to the south of Puddletown. The pits are located on an area of chalk and sand and measure between 8 m by 6 m and 19 by 16 m. (1) The features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
