Full Description
A medieval or later field system is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the north west of Langton Matravers village. The system may be of medieval origin, parallel banks being the remains of strip fields (1-2). The historic features overlie the prehistoric field system described in MDO30715. The historic field boundaries are generally not visible on the most recent 2012 Google Earth images although the wider prehistoric lynchets are still visible as earthworks. The site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
