A gravel pit is marked here on on the Second Edition OS Map of Beacon Heath, Lynchett Minster. A group of pits are visible here as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948. They are considered likely to be remains associated with the post medieval gravel pit described above.

A gravel pit is marked here on on the Second Edition OS Map (1).

A group of pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Beacon Heath, Lynchett Minster (2). They are considered likely to be the remains of post medieval gravel pits. These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. They are visible as cropmarks on the most recent Google Earth imagery.
