A post medieval extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1945 on Godlingston Hill, to the east of Knitson, Swanage. The pit is situated on chalk and measures approximately 34 m by 27 m. (1) These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
