A post medieval extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1944 at Launchfield, Affpuddle. The pit is located on an area of sand and measures approximately 50 m by 26 m. (1) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
