A post medieval sand pit is visible as an earthwork on lidar imagery on Chamberlayne's Heath, Bere Regis. The pit measures 42 m by 33 m and is marked on the 1st edition OS map. (1-2) This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
