Full Description

Two large extractive pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the northwest of Old Marl Plantation, East Lulworth. They are marked as 'Old Quarry' on the OS 1st edition map and are considered to be of post medieval date (1). The features are still visible as earthworks under trees on recent Google Earth imagery; they were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
