Summary

One of two cottages formed from a school and attached house built in the 18th century. The building has walls of stone rubble and chalk block, covered in render, and a thatched roof with brick chimney stacks.

Full Description

17th century house on the east side of the High Street, used circa 1790-1834 as a meeting house. It later became a National School, but is now a private house and attached cottage. 18th century, with 20th century refenestration. Rubble-stone and chalk-block walls, rendered and painted white (Palmer's Cottage). Thatch roof, gabled at left hand and hipped at right hand. Brick stacks at left hand gable, and ridge centre, 1½ storeys. <1>
