Full Description
The OS 1st edn 25in map (1889) (1) shows a straight-sided plot on the cliff top E of Lulworth Cove divided by a complex pattern of parallel ditches or boundaries and a with a probable outfall over the cliff to the W. The 0.6 ha area is marked with the OS convention for osiers and this is likely to have been a withy or osier bed, producing materials for basketry (including pots for fishing). The 2nd edn 25in map (1902) (2) shows a 0.1 ha extension to the NE, again subdivided by ditches.
