Full Description

A ring-ditch, c 6.0m diameter, at SY 6481 8706 was excavted in 1984. The primary ditch-silting does not indicate the former presence of a mound or bank, while a central post-hole and groups of stake-holes in the ditch bottom probably indicate an agricultural use, perhaps a hay-drier. The pottery is consistent with a late Bronze Age or early iron Age date. <1>
