Full Description
Historic maps (1, 2) show a narrow, steep-sided defile running SW from Alum Chine for approx 250m. It is possibly a natural feature but could potentially have been associated with post medieval alum or copperas extraction, which is know to have taken place in the area (MDO 32794).
