Monument record MDO3293 - Winterbourne Poor Lot: bowl barrow

Bronze Age bowl barrow forming part of the Winterbourne Poor Lot Barrow Group. The barrow is 20m across and cut by a modern hedgeline. The site is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. {1}

‘Poor Lot Group … (22) Ditched triple bowl (58979074) on N.E. slope 38 yds. S.E. of (21). Irregular elongated mound about 70ft. long, up to 48 ft. broad and 6 ft. high at E., higher, end. Three separate crests show in profile, and ditch 10 ft. wide runs along S.W., uphill, side.'

As above. Part of a group of Guardianship Ancient Monuments which are surrounded on the S, W and E by a double fence where the protected area borders on farmland, and a single fence on the north. Covered in unploughed grassland. 1/2/B
