Full Description
The 3rd edn OS 25in map (1909) (1) shows a small oval earthwork mound marked 'Old Icehouse'. The feature was not marked on earlier OS maps (2, 3) but these showed the site under woodland and the structure may not have been apparent to OS surveyors. The ice house is likely to have been associated with the country house known as Bure Homage (MWX1187), which stood approximately 100m to the NW. Both sites have been redeveloped for housing
