Summary

Possible ditched bowl barrow situated in woodland on the top of a ridge, one of a group of ten barrows. In 1970 this monument was reported as 60 feet in diameter with a mound 5½ feet high.

A spread and partly tree covered bowl barrow; diameter 18.0m height 1.8m. There is no visible ditch. <3>

‘THREE BARROW CLUMP GROUP (SY 59 SE). Ten barrows, including one, possibly two, bells and one pond barrow, on the top and N. slope of a spur on S. side of S. Winterborne valley. Most have been damaged.
(33) Ditched bowl (?) (59489003) on ridge top in woodland and crossed by parish boundary with Little Bredy. Diam. about 60 ft., ht. about 5½ ft.’

Ditched bowl in managed woodland; hazel saplings grow on its N side. Three mature beech trees grow on its southern perimeter. A ditch is visible on the N side (0.2m deep and 3.0m wide), faint on the east side, and not visible on the south or west. Ditch probably obscured by woodland tracks which meet at a junction SW of the mound. There are no animal burrows visible in the mound. Several large flints and two lumps of limestone are visible on the crest of the mound. 1/2/B
