‘The following monuments, unless otherwise described, are of the 17th century and of two storeys; the walls are of rubble and the roofs are thatched or covered with modern materials. Some of the buildings have exposed ceiling-beams and original fireplaces. … (27) Cottage, on the W. side of Malthouse Lane nearly 5/8 m. E.N.E. of the church, has a hipped S. gable and retains some original three-light windows with wood frames.’
