Summary

Aerial photographs taken in 2005 show a dark circular cropmark around 15 metres in diameter. This is interpreted as a ring-ditch and the probable remains of a Bronze Age round barrow. This monument is also visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs taken in 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording Programme. The barrow mound is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM.

Full Description

No internal or associated features could be discerned. <1>

Appears as a light chalky patch in an arable field, suggesting that the mound of this barrow survived as a slight earthwork in 2009. <2>

Cropmark of a probable Bronze Age round barrow visible as a ring ditch at SY 8591 9986, south of East Down Plantation on aerial photographs taken in 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording Programme. <3>

The barrow mound is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM <5>.
