Summary

An extensive system of parallel bank and ditched features is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery and aerial photographs in the fields to the west of Burton Bradstock. The features are considered to be the remains of a medieval strip field system. They were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP project.

An extensive system of parallel bank and ditched features is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery and aerial photographs in the fields to the west of Burton Bradstock. The features are considered to be the remains of a medieval strip field system. The strip fields cover an area of approximately 90ha and run roughly north-south. They were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP project. (1-2)
