A series of parallel lynchets are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery on the southwest slopes of Coombe Down Hill <2> <6>. They are considered to be of medieval origin and were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

(Centred ST 488000) Strip lynchets plotted from air photographs. <1> <2>

There are several groups of lynchets on the north and south slopes of Coombe Down Hill. A well-marked group facing south has terraces from 20 yards wide upwards. <3>

Lynchets centred in three areas, and visible on air photograph: … 'C' (SY 486999) Short lynchets, parallel and well pronounced. <4>
