Summary

A well in the outermost enclosure of an Iron Age/Romano-British settlement was excavated by Martin Green. It proved to be nearly thirty metres deep and contained mid- to late-1st century AD pottery.

Full Description

A well at the site was excavated in 1984 to a depth of 28.2m. The average diameter was 1.15m. Large amounts of mid-late C1st AD pottery and fossal remains were recovered. <2>
