Two bowl barrows situated east of Red Barn. In a report published in 1952 both were noted as earthworks. The more northerly barrow had a diameter of 18.2 metres and a height of 0.9 metres. However a field survey of 1954 recorded the barrow at SY 64319221was 'destroyed' - ploughed out, its site indicated by a 20 metres in diameter surface scatter of chalk and flint . No surface finds were recorded. This barrow was scheduled in 1977.A field survey which took place in 1981 noted that the ploughed out barrow was visible as a chalk patch approximately 18 metres in diameter. This was visible on Ordnance Survey aerial photographs of 1979 with a ditch indicated by a 3 metre wide band of dark soil. The bowl barrow at SY 64299219 survived as an earthwork approximately 17metres in diameter and 0.3 metres high. NRHE AP (OS 79/123/292 15.9.79)
