Full Description
An extensive area of post medieval quarrying is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery on the northern end of Quarry Hill (1-3). They are marked as Old Quarries on the OS 1st edition map. A deeply incised trackway runs southeast from the main area of workings to a small quarry at SY4367 9343, near the treeline marking the parish boundary. A second quarry runs into the main area of quarrying from the north. A second large area of quarrying lies to the south and is described in MDO38389. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
