Full Description
An extensive area of post medieval limestone quarrying is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery on the southern end of Quarry Hill (1-3). The extensive quarry pits are associated with an number of deeply incised trackways. A second area of quarrying lies to the north and is described in MDO38387. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. They are marked on the OS 1st edition map along with an associated limekiln - no remains of which could be identified on the photographs.
