Summary

Fragments of a field system of medieval or post medieval date are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the south east of Gummershaye Farm. The field boundaries are associated with two units of possible post medieval origin described separately in MDO38944. They were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP and are now plough-levelled, the site being no longer visible on recent Google Earth imagery.

Full Description

Fragments of a field system of medieval or post medieval date are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the south east of Gummershaye Farm (1). The field boundaries are associated with two units of possible post medieval origin described separately in MDO38944. They were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP and are now plough-levelled, the site being no longer visible on recent Google Earth imagery (2).
