Full Description
A small post medieval extractive pit to the northeast of Broadwindsor House, Broadwindsor, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1) and on the latest Lidar imagery (2). The quarry measures around 38m long and may be associated with a post medieval lime kiln (MDO546) and a larger area of extraction (MDO38875) on the northside of Common Water Lane. The site is still faintly visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (3) and was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
