Monument record MDO39025 - Historic trackway, Stoke Knapp Farm, Stoke Abbott

An historic trackway to the southwest of Stoke Knapp Farm, Stoke Abbott, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s. It is not shown on the OS 1st Edition map and appears disused on an aerial photograph of 1947. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

An historic trackway to the southwest of Stoke Knapp Farm, Stoke Abbott, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1) and (2). It is not shown on the OS 1st Edition map and appears disused on an aerial photograph of 1947 (1). An aerial photograph taken in 1971 (3) suggests that at its southern end it cuts through a small area of possible post medieval quarrying (MDO39027). The trackway is still visible on a digital aerial photograph taken in 2002 (4). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
