Summary

A cluster of small hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1945 on the western edge of Matchams Park adjacent to what is now Foxbury Road. The features are 5-6m across and may be Second World War impact craters or shell holes. This area has not been disturbed by modern housing development but the features appear to have been plough-levelled and are no longer visible on recent imagery. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

A cluster of small hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1945 on the western edge of Matchams Park adjacent to what is now Foxbury Road (2). The features are 5-6m across and may be Second World War impact craters or shell holes. This area has not been disturbed by modern housing development but the features appear to have been plough-levelled and are no longer visible on recent imagery (2). The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
