Full Description
One of several mounds visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 on Alderholt Common (1). Possible site of a medieval or later pillow mound. This is an elogated mound orientated roughly southeast -northwest, it is 341m by 7m with a flanking ditch and a linear bank and ditched feature running northweast for 65m . The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. The site has since been ploughed (2) and the features are no longer visible on recent digital imagery (3).
