Full Description
A line of ditched features on the northeastern edge of a small escarpment to the north of Bostwick Farm are visible on 1940s aerial photographs and current Lidar imagery.
The grouping comprises four short squarish or rectangular ditches varying between 4m and 15m in length. To the southeast of these are three irregular ditched and banked features around 5m in length, the banks probably formed by cast up earth from the ditches. The southeasternmost of these is set into a possible Bronze Age barrow mound (MDO39542).
The features may be post medieval extractive pits or modern military trenches. A World War II heavy anti-aircraft battery (MDO39545) is situated adjacent to these features.
The features are under scrub on current Google Earth imagery and not clearly visible.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
