Full Description
A ditched and banked historic field boundary is visible in fields to the southwest of Hurn Court Farm, Hurn, on current Lidar imagery (1). The linear boundary has a slight curvilinear form and extends on a broadly northeast to southwest alignment towards the north bank of the River Stour. The boundary may be of medieval origin as it is on the same alignment as other historic field boundaries on both sides of the River Stour at this location, which may be associated with areas of former medieval strips with a larger area of medieval open field.
The boundary is faintly visible as a banked and ditched linear on 2012 Google Earth imagery (2) and was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
