Full Description
SU 0316 1011. Three Bronze Age round barrows are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs, and have been mapped by EH's Knowlton Circles Project. Each is defined by a single circular ditch, between 17m and 20m in diameter. The barrows are located 630m to the east of the Knowlton Great Barrow, and are associated with the extensive barrow cemetery known as the Knowlton Circles Barrow Group. <1>
A sub-circular cropmark at Knowlton is visible on 1970s aerial photographs <1>. The feature measures around 21.5m in diameter and may represent a small Bronze Age barrow. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
