Summary

A sub-circular ring ditch to the east of Glebe Farm, Wimborne St Giles, is visible as a cropmark on a 1997 aerial photograph. The feature may represent a Bronze Age barrow. The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

A sub-circular ring ditch to the east of Glebe Farm, Wimborne St Giles, is visible as a cropmark on a 1997 aerial photograph (1).

The ring ditch measures 30m in diameter with a 2.6m wide outer ditch. The feature is presumed to represent a Bronze Age barrow. The barrow appears slightly truncated on its northeast side and may be the same barrow referred to in MDO6301.

The feature was digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
