Full Description
A loose cluster of small sub-circular cropmarks on the north side of the Drive Plantation, St Giles's Park, are visible on 1997 aerial photographs (1).
The features vary between sub-oval and irregular in form and are around 1.5 and 3m in length and diameter. The are situated within an area of late prehistoric activity and on the northwest edges of a probable late prehistoric or medieval field system (MDO39515). The features may represent late prehistoric pits, although it also possible they are of natural or agricultural origin. There is a possible continuation of similar features on the south side of the B3081 (MDO40325).
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
