Full Description
Banked retilinear earthworks on the northwest edge of Wimborne St Giles are visible on current Lidar imagery (1).
The features broadly align southeast to northwest along the back boundaries of the cottages along the west side of Coach Road. Some of the features correspond with relict field boundaries indicated only by occasional trees on the OS 1st Edition map (2). The features are considered to be historic field boundaries, probably post medieval in origin although an earlier date is possible.
They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
