Summary

Ditched linear features on the east side of Fairmile Road, Christchurch, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are considered likely to be post medieval drainage ditches. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

Ditched linear features are visible on the east side of Fairmile Road, Christchurch, on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The linear features are located within an area of post medieval extraction (MDO39419) and may be associated with this but they have the form of post medieval drainage ditches and are considered more likely to be drainage features than extractive features.

The site was redeveloped for housing on 2000 Google imagery (2).

The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
