Full Description
Ditched linear earthworks on the Avon floodplain to the west of Burton are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1 and 2).
The features comprise a seies of east-west aligned linear ditches around 3.4m apart and situated either side of a post medieval drainage ditch. They are presumed to be cultivation marks, most probably post medieval narrow ridge and furrow, although an earlier date is possible.
The features are no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
