Full Description
A series of regular and parallel ditched linear features at Burton are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features are spaced broadly 4m apart and are situated within enclosures created by a series of irregular ditched and banked historic field boundaries of medieval or post medieval origin (MDO40520). The features are presumed to be historic cultivation marks, probably those of post medieval narrow ridge and furrow, although an earlier origin is possible.
The features are under housing on current Google Earth imagery and no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
