Full Description

Ditched linear earthworks to the south of Burton Hall, Winkton, are visible on 1940s and 1950s aerial photographs (1 and 2).

The features comprise narrow rectilinear and curvilinear ditches within historic enclsoures adjacent to the south side of the former Hall. The features interlink and are considered to be post medieval drainage features.

The site is developed as housing on current Google Earth imagery. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
