Summary

Ditched linear features at Tuckton, Christchurch, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.

Full Description

Ditched linear features at Tuckton, Christchurch, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).

The features comprise narrow perpendicular linear ditches on the north riverbank at Tuckton and are presumed to be historic field boundaries of probable post medieval date, although an earlier origin is possible.

The site is adjacent to a modern marina and under trees on current Google Earth imagery. The features are no longer visible. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
