Full Description
The parallel ridges of narrow cultivation marks in fields to the northeast of Stone Farm are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features comprise narrow ridges set around 2.5m apart and extending the width of historic fields whose curvilinear boundaries suggest a probable medieval origin. The features are presumed to be historic cultivation marks, probably post medieval narrow ridge and furrow, although an earlier origin is possible.
The site is ploughed and cropped fields on current Google Earth imagery, with significant boundary removal. The features are no longer visible.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP project.
